ABOUT

A directory of
HN aggregators.

People keep making sites that collect things shared on Hacker News. This is a directory of those sites, from early book lists to newer video and tool indexes.

What’s included?

A project belongs here if it collects or organizes a particular kind of thing from HN posts or comments: books, videos, products, tools, and similar resources. Both automated indexes and hand-curated collections can qualify.

Being launched on HN is not enough. General HN readers, unrelated directories, and standalone recommendation threads don’t belong here.

Where do the listings come from?

The 22 listings are researched individually. Each external project links to an HN discussion or another source describing what it collects. Dates show a documented HN appearance, which may be later than the actual launch.

The collection is incomplete. Download the catalog to inspect the entries and their sources.

What do the status labels mean?

Online means the site returned a successful response when checked on Nov 2, 2026. Unverified means availability couldn’t be confirmed. Archived entries open an Internet Archive snapshot.

These are dated checks. A site may have changed since then.

Where are bookmarks saved?

Bookmarks are saved in this browser. They don’t sync across devices. Clearing the site’s browser storage will remove them.

There is currently no submission form or shared inbox.

Why “again”?

HackerBooks.com appeared in 2011. The comments already mention other HN book sites. In the 2026 HackerBooks thread, its creator returned to say they had meant to revive the original. The idea keeps coming back.
